Vid: 480p vs. 480i

Are you wondering if there’s any difference when it comes to having 480p or 480i while playing on your Wii? Well, YouTube user, TheFNGSpot, might be able to help you out. TheFNGSpot writes this as the description of the video he uploaded:

Side by side comparison of the Nintendo Wii playing Zelda: Twilight Princess on my Sony KDSR60XBR2 HD TV.. One Side is using component cables (480p) & the other is composite cables (480i).

If you look at the video above, the over-saturation of the reds and blacks on 480i is clearly noticeable. Is this more reason to spend for those component cables? Your call, really. We do have to note that there have been reports of the Wii having a few problems with 480p.

Just a little something to help you folks out.

I went ahead and purchased the component cable for the Wii, so far so good. I should note that before switching the resolution higher my Kirby VC game did not appear on the screen, however after switching the resolution on the wii it played fine. so just be sure to switch it in your system!

ya the cables are great, everything is clean no longer blurry ( in the zelda game) you can pretty much see things far away now as images rather then blurs, and colors are alot more defined, and textures more defined as well rather then blurred.

Sorry to post again but i have to add, that before i got the cables in Zelda TP i could not see anything when it was night time in the game (With the normal Tv settings). Now with the new cables it makes playing in game night time not only visible but fun.
