Twilight zone glitch in Twilight Princess

Twilight Princess — literally. Although the numbers are as of yet small, the glitch is far from being minute as it permanently blocks their way forward that they have to start again.

Now, nobody likes being forced to start back from scratch for no apparent reason, especially when you’ve already gone so far ahead. The bug appears when saving your progress at a specific point in the game. This here is the tricky part. If you don’t want any more spoilers, you better stop reading right now. But as it concerns a glitch, and we don’t want anymore of you guys tripping over the same stone, we’re gonna say it anyway.

So, right after thawing out the frozen Zora’s domain, it appears that the glitch is activated. The following cutscene is then blocked, so to speak. The thing is, this next cutscene is where a new path is opened. So, if the cutscene is blocked, you can’t get to the next path, which essentially keeps you from progressing in the game.

While waiting for Nintendo to give its comments on the matter, just be careful with your saves, i tend to save everytime i just finish something time consuming or i try every 30 minutes, what i do is alternate save slots so i always have 2 recent game saves with me in case this ever happens. I normally do it for every game.

Virtual Console Baseball screens

Here are some screenshots from the downloadable version of the classic NES game, Baseball. This version here is for Nintendo’s Virtual Console service.

Now, for those of you still not in touch with this version, you might want to try it out. After all, it does offer nine innings of tight sandlot competition in this NES sports title. There also are six teams for you to choose from as you play through all nine innings. So, while the players are certainly not Mii-made, it’s just as fun. After all, you can never get enough of classics.

Wii - 1 / Fat - 0

When the Wii first came out you may have heard of the “Wii Sports Experiment.” Some average joe decided to play Wii Sports for 30 minutes everyday for 6 weeks. In the process tracking all vital health statistics. His results are finally up, and they’re pretty interesting. Being the jerk that I am… I’ll ruin the ending for you, he lost 9 pounds!

Clearly the man was really getting into the games, bouncing around for boxing and taking full, tennis swings that would make plasma televisions shudder… but it’s still pretty damn impressive. I suppose this will draw the inevitable comment “Of course he lost weight, he’s moving for 30 minutes a day.” To which I say, shut up!

This post is devoted to the countless female Mii’s that this man surely beat up on during Wii Boxing Matches, all in the name of losing weight. I hope you’re proud of yourself sir.

Ghostbusters Game – Wishful Thinking?

Some of you, by now, must have seen these videos circulating on YouTube already – they’re of a seriously, super-duper impressive Ghostbusters mod of either the Gears of War engine, or the Source engine. Now, I’m a huge fan of Ghostbusters, and I’ve been one since I first set eyes upon the movie when my dad bought a VHS of the movie in the early 90s – and yes, as a fan, I bought and played all the games.

You know how it is when you’re a little kid, though. Games like Battletoads seemed like completely reasonable games, despite their obvious flaw of being quite literally impossible to beat.

However, growing up as a gamer (and specifically, a Nintendo fan), I’ve watched the franchises I love evolve and mature into beautiful, classic games. Now that TMNT is heading back to the screen, all that’s left in my mind is good ol’ Ghostbusters.

That’s why, after watching the videos of an obviously fan-made mod, I fell so in love with the concept. The fact that Ghostbusters is made so eloquently in a third-person Gears-type game model is just making me slobber in anticipation for whatever the crap this is. Rumor is, however, that the game’s a concept conjured up by European-based level 10 wizards ZootFly.

Please, God. If you’re listening, make a new Ghostbusters game.

Vid: 480p vs. 480i

Are you wondering if there’s any difference when it comes to having 480p or 480i while playing on your Wii? Well, YouTube user, TheFNGSpot, might be able to help you out. TheFNGSpot writes this as the description of the video he uploaded:

Side by side comparison of the Nintendo Wii playing Zelda: Twilight Princess on my Sony KDSR60XBR2 HD TV.. One Side is using component cables (480p) & the other is composite cables (480i).

If you look at the video above, the over-saturation of the reds and blacks on 480i is clearly noticeable. Is this more reason to spend for those component cables? Your call, really. We do have to note that there have been reports of the Wii having a few problems with 480p.

Just a little something to help you folks out.

First ‘WarioWare: Smooth Moves’ review

“In Nintendo’s latest Wii game, WarioWare: Smooth Moves, gamers use the remote (and nunchuk in later levels) to complete 200 zany micro games. Each of the game’s levels force players to complete a series of off the wall, three-second challenges. These include picking a 3D nose, scanning a banana through a supermarket check out, bouncing a tennis ball and giving two dogs high fives, all the while holding the remote in numerous positions. Fun comes from not only beating the game, but also watching people contort their bodies into whacky positions. Unfortunately, it only takes a few hours to unlock everything, but WarioWare packs plenty of replay value, thanks to its charming presentation, addictive micro games and hilarious multiplayer mode.”

Nintendo’s Wii Play 2/12/07 - Don’t Buy a Wiimote just yet!

Wii play for the Nintendo Wii is a collection of 9 mini games that is to be released on 2/12/07. There are a few highlights to this game and I believe it will sell very well amoungst the growing popular titles. The kicker with this mini game collection is that it costs the regular $50, but it includes a $40 Wii-mote for free. You are really getting a $40 dollar wii-mote with a $10 game and with a total of 9 mini games, that makes it just over $1 per game, a screaming deal. Most Wii owners will be picking up extra Wii-motes for the future release of Mario Party 8 anyways, so this is a huge benefit.Another great feature with this title is that Nintendo has incorporated your fashionable, customized Mii characters as players in the mini-games. I know my kids love making Mii characters and being able to play them in something other than Wii sports is going to be very cool. Also, the games in the collection will be both single player and two player games.

The mini-games to be included in the package are:

A shooting Range (from the images i have seen this game looks similar to Duck Hunt)
Table Tennis
Laser Hockey
Billiards
Fishing
Charge (this has to be the cow racing game as shown in the recent edition of Nintendo Power)
Tanks
Find Mii (I would assume that this is like Where’s Waldo, but for your Mii Character)
Pose Mii

Coming Soon to the Wii - The Mad Catz System Stacker

This new accessory is not yet available for the Nintendo Wii, but is coming soon from Mad Catz for a reasonable price of $19.99. This system stacker will clean up your Wii area by providing a place holder for games, controllers and other soon to come accessories. The dimensions of the system stacker are 17″ wide by 11″ deep. They do not list the height of the stacker, but from the image it appears to me to be about as high as 4 to 5 dvd/game cases. This stacker is designed to let your Wii “float” horizontally and provides proper ventillation to avoid possible overheating of your console. You can also put other audio / video components either below or on top of the system stacker because it is made out of “durable reinforced plastic”. It also has one side open so you can easily access your Gamecube controller ports as well as your memory card slots.
